Dr. Hsien C. Young is Board Certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine and is the Medical Director for SleepMed of Santa Barbara. Dr. Young received his Medical Doctorate from the University of Washington School of Medicine and remained with the University of Washington for his internship in Internal Medicine. Thereafter, he completed his residency in Neurology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, where he received many honors, including LAC/USC Resident of the Year Award, Outstanding House Officer Teaching Award, and the Victoroff Compassionate Care of Patients Award, and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honors Society. After residency, Dr. Young remained at the University of Southern California to complete his fellowships in Sleep Medicine and Neurophysiology. During his fellowship training, Dr. Young served on the Admissions Committee of the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine and was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine.
Dr. Young has a busy practice as a specialist in Neurology and Sleep Medicine at the Sansum Clinic in Santa Barbara. He is a member of the medical staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital where he is serving as Chairman of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery. Dr. Young also is a member of the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital Medical Executive Committee, a member of the Neurology Attending Teaching Staff for Internal Medicine residents at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, and serves on the Steering Committee of the Santa Barbara Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Charles Curatalo formerly served as the Medical Director of the Sleep Disorder Center of Santa Barbara and is Board Certified in Neurology and Sleep Medicine. He received his Medical Degree from U.C.S.D. He completed his Neurology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital at Harvard University where he became Chief Resident in Neurology. He then went on to complete a Fellowship in in Electrophysiology and Sleep Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Curatalo maintains a busy private practice in Neurology and Sleep Medicine in Santa Barbara and is a Neurology Teaching Attending for medical residents at Cottage Hospital and Assistant Clinical Professor of Neurology at University of Southern California, School of Medicine.
Dr. Charles Schroeder is currently in practice at the Sansum Clinic and is Board Certified in Pulmonary Disease and Sleep Medicine. He received his Medical Degree from the University of Missouri and completed his Internship in Internal Medicine from Presbyterian Medical Center/St. Luke's Medical Center. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Texas Children Hospital and Followship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine from University of Kansas College of Health Sciences. Dr. Schroeder has been at the Sansum Clinic since 2009.
